My dedication and passion for the English language started when I was still a teenager living in my hometown, Ibicaraí. Some years later, in 2001, I moved to Vitoria da Conquista to study Computer Sciences at UESB.
It was also in that year that my history at Glass School began. I had done some research on the main language schools in town and I didn’t hesitate to sign up here. I spent some years learning non-stop with Daisy Glass and Tenney Naumer, both of whom significantly contributed to my progress and performance as an English speaker.
In 2004, I was invited to join the Glass School family. I went through an intense and thorough training program in a beginner class, having Rosana Siqueira as the official teacher and Daisy Glass as my trainer. I acquired a lot of knowledge both through readings on methodology and daily contact with other teachers, especially Cristiane Lemos, Ivana Cairo, Priscila França, Rute Brito, and Maurício Veiga.
I have immense admiration and respect for Daisy Glass whom I take as my mentor and motivator in addition to nurturing me as a teacher. I am eternally grateful for her generosity and patience.
My learning process is continuous and I feel challenged daily to provide dynamic, creative and relevant classes for my students. We have weekly in-service training with our teachers at Glass School. We read articles and share our experiences so that we are always striving toward the goal of having a principled language school.
Throughout my career as a teacher, I have travelled a little and undergone unique experiences. I have had the chance to do a teacher training course at Hilderstone College in England, conducted a workshop for international students at George Brown College, and also ministered a workshop on role-playing adventures: fun and engaging integrated-skills activities along with Maria Helena Glass and Adeesha Hack at the 2015 TESOL international convention in Toronto, Canada. A few months later, we also had an article published at TESOL Connections.
Currently, in addition to being a teacher, I am also in charge of the pedagogical coordination of Glass School together with Ivana.
It has been a privilege to be part of such a genuine and innovative work along with a competent and determined team who is constantly seeking new challenges and knowledge.
