Rosana Smith – Manager

It all started in 1995 when I met Daisy Glass at Banco do Brasil while I was working as an underage employee. She was my boss and she also taught English at her mother’s house. She offered me a scholarship to study English and I obviously accepted it.

That same year, my employment contract with Banco do Brasil ended. Daisy and her sister, Stella Marcia Glass, had decided to open an English School and invited me to work there as a secretary. It was a great opportunity and I participated actively in setting up the institution. This allowed me to learn many things about the course. Furthermore, I was growing professionally along with the school.

Some years later, Daisy asked me if I wanted to become an English teacher and that was a challenge for me. She started training me and, in 1999, I began to teach English for children. I taught children and young adolescents for fourteen years.

Daisy always told us that we needed to be prepared to take over the school when she retired. In 2009, she proposed that Ivana, Thiago, and I become partners in the society. I had already graduated in Economy from the State University of Southwest Bahia and she suggested that I assume the administration of the school while Ivana and Thiago trained to supervise and coordinate the academic aspects of the course.

Daisy has retired, but the school she envisioned continues. She is always around to provide further training as well as counselling.

in a letter, today I am a proud manager because I work with a company that I truly love and which is a big part of my life. Moreover, I work in a very good environment with an excellent team. I am very thankful to Daisy, because of all the great career opportunities she has given me.
